Q: How can I book the accommodation?

Rivendell's beautiful accommodation options are all within walking distance of the ceremony and reception sites. They are all individually managed and as such there is no central booking platform. However, they are all listed on our website under the 'Accommodation' tab with links to online booking platforms. There is a map to help guide you to their locations. Each holiday home (or villa) is bookable online. The couple will be provided advance booking details if you wish to secure you booking prior to the dates being released online.

Q: What is the weather and temperatures like Yallingup?

From November through to March the days are generally warm or hot whereas it cools down quite a bit at night. We recommend our couples advise their guests to bring some clothing / jackets to stay warm at night - particularly if the reception is an open air style reception with no tent for shelter.

Winters in Yallingup generally have a lot of rainfall - therefore we don't host many weddings at this time. September / October and April are beautiful weather months also and the gardens look great - however your chance of rainfall is a little higher during those months.

Q: I'm visiting from overseas and am unsure how to get around in Yallingup / Margaret River?

A limited amount of flights fly into Busselton regional airport, from Sydney and Melbourne. There are several chauffeur services that offer airport transfers as well as car hire options available from the airport website https://www.busseltonmargaretriverairport.com.au

If you are arriving into the Perth airport there are bus transfer companies as well as chauffeur or taxi services available. If you have an international driver's license it is a great idea to hire a car to drive down to Yallingup. It takes approximately 3.5 hours to drive from Perth to Yallingup. A few options available are listed on the Perth airport website https://www.perthairport.com.au

Taxi services that service the Yallingup area include Dunsborough Taxis and South West Taxis. 

Distances are generally such that you will need transport. There is not a whole lot within walking distance from Rivendell Estate and our surrounding roads, including Wildwood and Commonage Road, are not suitable for riding bicycles or walking.

Q: What number of guests can your venue host for a seated dinner?

Our indoor venue, inside the Rivendell cellar door, can host up to 60 guests including the bridal party. The cellar door holds up to 100 guests cocktail style. Our gardens are not limited in capacity.

Q: What number of guests can your venue host for a cocktail style reception?

Our gardens are not limited in capacity, however a limit of 150 is recommended for the two tents (hampton and tipi tents). If you choose an open air style reception we can host a larger number of guests. The cellar door holds up to 100 guests cocktail style. 

Q: What wet weather options do you have?

We recommend you book a tent if your wedding date is in September / October or April. Winter weddings are encouraged to only utilise the cellar door / cafΓ© venue for the reception. This venue is available at for hire from $5000. 

Q: Can I DIY my table styling and/or decorations or bring my own furniture?

Ceremony and Reception furniture and styling

Our packages with YEH provide you with all the furniture for your reception. If you wish to add more items this can be done directly with YEH via their stylist while you are planning your big day. Ceremony items are available in a package or can also be individually sourced from a hire company such as YEH. If the couple wish to supply their own arbour please discuss with Rivendell and your stylist prior.

While some BYO styling is welcome, we encourage couples to utilize their furniture and styling suppliers to reduce personal work on the day of your wedding as well as pickup on the day after your celebration.

Rivendell require couples or their families to please pick up any personal items and florals the following day prior to midday. Note that any Friday bookings must pick up items prior to 11am the following day.

Logistics:

Any items used at the ceremony site cannot be moved to the reception site by Rivendell staff. We will be busy serving your drinks! We request that you please organize separate hire for any furniture or wine barrels (or similar items) at the two separate locations.

The use of third-party suppliers, other than YEH, for furniture, tents and other supplies is accepted, however, close liaison with Rivendell is required for access to the venue / gardens prior to your event.

Your package with us and YEH includes your very own stylist that will help you plan out the look of your day. If you would like more assistance prior to and on the day YEH also offer a wedding coordinator/planner for an additional fee.
