Situated in a natural bush setting, looking down toward the valley, Rivendell Lodge is secluded and private, and is ideal for a family getaway. Rivendell Lodge sleeps up to 12 people and is ideally suited for more than one family. A classic designed, double storey log timber country cottage built around a massive living space. A large yard leads into the bush – immerse yourself in Australian wildlife with trees for miles, and friendly kangaroos, kookaburras and possums right on your doorstep.
The Space
Rivendell Lodge is built around a massive living space, sized over 100sqm and incorporating high ceilings and natural slate floors. The newly renovated kitchen features a 900mm oven – perfect for cooking for large groups – and dishwasher; and overlooks the outdoor living area. Living room features huge dining setting and ample seating; TV, DVD player and games are available. There is also a pool table. A slow combustion fire warms the space in winter, and ducted air-conditioning creates a tranquil atmosphere for summer.
The estate includes stunning gardens, tennis court and cellar door which offers a selection of exciting new Rivendell wines as well as the renowned wines from Forester Estate. The cellar door is open weekends and you can stroll up for a coffee, wine tasting or enjoy a picnic in the garden with a selection of cheeses and cold cuts from the cellar door. As they have a Tavern license you can also buy beers or other drinks of your choice which can been enjoyed in the quaint ambiance of the alfresco garden.

The old Brandywine Lodge looks very different after it’s refurbishment. I stayed there with a group of friends over 20 years ago when it was the only accommodation on the Rivendell site. Happy memories.
